Salming Recoil Lyte 2 are one of the new products for the 2024 season. Originally a purely volume model, they have evolved into the ideal companion for faster tempo or medium-length volume runs as part of the development of the running market. Thanks to the flexible sole, reasonable level of cushioning and low weight, they perfectly support the natural running style and offer a great alternative to highly cushioned models or carbon racing models.
Compared to the previous generation, the Recoil Lyte 2 has a completely redesigned upper, which stands out primarily for its flexibility and overall comfort. The overall fit of the model is now more spacious and at the same time adapts perfectly to your foot from the first time you put it on. Its basis is a breathable and ideally flexible polyester knit, which is covered in key parts with microfiber panels. These have a protective function and at the same time stabilize the feet in the right direction.
The new model's cushioning is again provided by premium Salming Recoil™ foam, which not only offers excellent energy return, but also provides appropriate stability and, thanks to its rather lower height, does not prevent a high-quality reading of the surface you are running on.
Another proven part of the shoes is their flexible sole. As usual, it combines parts of recycled rubber, a TPU torsion unit in its middle part, and uncovered parts of shock-absorbing foam.
On roads and paved paths
The Lyte 2 model is primarily designed for running on roads or asphalt surfaces, but you won't feel bad in them on natural paved paths either.
For beginners and advanced users
Like its predecessors, the Lyte 2 is a versatile model that will appeal to both beginners and advanced runners. While it will help beginners better understand the specifics of natural running, experienced runners will appreciate it as a more natural alternative to highly cushioned models or carbon racing shoes. Thanks to its neutral tread and medium-hard cushioning, it is also suitable for runners with a common form of pronation and supination.
Good for longer workouts and faster runs
The Lyte 2 is a versatile option for multiple types of running. Thanks to its solid cushioning and good foot guidance, you can wear it for longer runs, and thanks to its light weight and nimble feel, for faster tempo runs. It is also a great option for racing half marathons or on the tartan track as an alternative to sneakers and carbon specials.
Shoe construction and technologies used
Shoe upper
Two layers for maximum comfort and stability
The Lyte 2's two-layer upper is made of an ideally flexible and extra comfortable polyester knit, which is covered with microfiber panels for increased stability. This two-layer construction also stands out for its very low weight and excellent breathability.

Holds the foot in place
Heel cup - the heel cup of the shoe is developed so that it does not increase the weight of the shoe and does not interfere with the overall feeling of comfort in the shoe, but at the same time fulfills its function, which is to stabilize and fix the foot in the shoe.

Natural and efficient forefoot movement
The upper of the shoe is expanded in the toe area with Toe Box technology to provide enough space for the forefoot to move, thus supporting their more natural and efficient movement from a biomechanical perspective.

Midsole - shoe cushioning
Up to 20% more energy in each bounce
The premium Salming Recoil™ material used in the midsole helps to cushion hard impacts of the foot. Compared to classic EVA foam, it absorbs negative forces better when stepping on the ground, and on the contrary, it returns up to 20% more energy during the rebound. The foam is very stable and can easily withstand temperature differences while maintaining the same properties. Its durability is also a great advantage. The running properties of the shoe do not change despite the large number of kilometers covered.

Even more comfort
Salming SoftFOAM is a special insert in the heel area, which is made of a material capable of even better reducing the negative effects of impacts in this part of the shoe. The specially developed mixture of materials has a 70% better ability to absorb these unwanted forces compared to regular EVA foam. The interaction of SoftFOAM and Recoil™ materials ensures a comfortable and at the same time efficient run.

Sole - the sole of the shoe
Supports proper biomechanics of movement
Torsion Efficiency Unit™ is a technology that sensitively supports the overall stability of the shoe. This TPU plastic unit is placed in the midsole so that it is not restrictive, but on the contrary, it maximally supports efficiency and correct running biomechanics.

Comfort on impact, efficiency on rebound
The TGS 62/75° technology divides the sole of the shoe into 2 parts. The first part – from the heel to the ball of the foot – makes up approximately 62% of the sole area, and is designed with maximum stability and impact absorption in mind. It is separated from the second part – the front part of the sole – by the so-called ballet line, which is guided by the sole at an angle of 75°. This division ensures that the shoe bends in exactly the right place to stimulate the natural lateral and anterior-posterior movements of the feet. The front part of the shoe is then designed for maximum rebound efficiency when running.

Durability and very good grip in any conditions
The Durable Lightweight Rubber material, from which the contact surfaces of the sole are made, is a durable and at the same time very lightweight compound made of recycled rubber with very good grip even in wet conditions.

The second generation of the road model with a completely redesigned upper that will delight you with its spaciousness and maximum comfort from the first step. Together with the years-proven flexible sole and reasonably high cushioning, it makes an ideal choice for tempo training and medium-length volume runs.
