Salming Trail 2 is the next continuation of a successful concept that stands and falls mainly with the flawless premium Vibram MegaGrip sole, which is once again ready to provide you with great grip even where you would not expect it. Compared to the previous generation, Trail 2 received a completely new upper, which significantly reduced the weight and overall increased the already optimal mix of comfort and functionality. The focus is still on this model as a universal trail shoe that you don't have to be afraid to take both for a long run in the mountains and for a shorter run through the autumn sleet in the "urban jungle".

The upper of the latest generation of trail shoes combines two perfectly complementary layers, which form a compact and, above all, lightweight whole. The strong and perfectly breathable knit, which forms the base layer, is covered by a second layer of several polyurethane panels, which are heat-welded with the first layer, which minimizes the risk of abrasions from the stitched joints. This second outer layer has a primarily protective and stabilizing function.

The most important part of the Trail 2 model remains the Vibram sole, which works perfectly with the cushioning layer made of premium Recoil™ foam. The Vibram MegaGrip sole itself has a not-so-high pattern, which adds to the versatility of the shoes, and especially a unique grip that will hold you even in really slippery conditions. The Recoil™ cushioning layer is mainly responsible for your comfort. Although it is sufficiently cushioned even for really long runs, you don't have to worry that it would not be ideally stable and offer active rebound. In the heel area, the midsole is also enriched with a special SoftFOAM insert, which you will especially appreciate when running downhill.

Universality is the foundation

The Salming Trail 2 model is one of the so-called universal trail shoes. Thanks to the tread height and the unique grip of the Vibram Megagrip sole, it will hold you in any weather conditions in the terrain, but at the same time you will not feel uncomfortable in them even when running over a firmer natural or even asphalt surface.

For beginners and advanced users

The Trail 2 model will appeal to both beginners and advanced runners. While the less experienced will appreciate the welcoming cushioning height and overall comfort of the shoe, the more advanced will fully enjoy the great grip of the Vibram Megagrip outsole and the excellent energy return offered by the Recoil™ cushioning compound.

For long training sessions, comfortable shorter off-road runs, but also mountain challenges

Because of their versatility, the Trail 2 offers many options for its use. You will appreciate their variability both during long training sessions, during which different types of surfaces alternate, and during shorter off-road runs, when comfort is more important to you than speed. However, they will also serve you convincingly during ultra-long mountain races.

Two layers for maximum comfort and stability

The upper of the Salming Trail 2 model consists of two layers. The first of them is an ideally strong polyester knit, which covers several thermally welded polyurethane panels. These have both a protective and mainly stabilizing function, which is very important especially in the terrain.

Holds the foot in place

Heel cup - the heel cup in our shoes is designed so that it does not increase the weight of the shoes and does not interfere with the overall feeling of comfort in the shoe, but at the same time fulfills its function, which is to stabilize and fix the foot in the shoe.

Natural and efficient forefoot movement

The upper of the shoe is expanded in the toe area with Toe Box technology to provide enough space for the forefoot to move, thus supporting their more natural and efficient movement from a biomechanical perspective.

Midsole - shoe cushioning

Comfort on impact, energy on rebound

The premium Recoil™ material used in the midsole helps cushion hard impacts. Compared to classic EVA foam, it absorbs negative forces better during landing and, conversely, returns demonstrably more energy during rebound.

Even more comfort

SoftFOAM is a special insert in the heel area, which is made of a material capable of even better reducing the negative effects of impacts in this part of the shoe. The specially developed mixture of materials has a 70% better ability to absorb these unwanted forces compared to regular EVA foam. The interaction of SoftFOAM and Recoil™ materials ensures a comfortable and at the same time efficient run.

The sole of the Salming Trail 2 is called Vibram™ Megagrip and is one of the key factors that makes it a true trail shoe. In addition to very good abrasion resistance, it also offers excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, reliably holding its user in place with every step.

The Salming Trail 2 men's universal trail shoes are new for the fall 2023 season. The completely redesigned upper construction continues to rely on comfortable and stable Recoil cushioning foam and, most importantly, the unique Vibram MegaGrip sole.
